I sprained both of my ankles the first time I played DXY!, it hurt to walk for a few days. I have also had my achilles tendon on my left leg which had been injured before in 1997 get reinjured by playing DDR several times over the period of about a year.

-Ripping skin off the ball of my right foot whilst playing CSFIL - Speed Mix (h.double)

Otherwise it's the occasional bruise that I get when I fall over whilst playing double at times. riiight.gif

My friend thought it was a good idea to try and jump over the bar at the end of the song and he tripped, fell, then smacked his head off of another machine. It was pretty funny to see. riiight.gif

about 2 months ago, I was about to finish a song with a left-right jump for the last step, but I hit it too hard and my foot was slightly bent to the side, so I basicly crushed my ankle. Afterwards, I didn't get any treatment ('coz I'm so smart) And I haven't really walked the same since.

Edit: Spelling errors.

Well, I played at the only place I can play last night. They have a USA Mix. And... I think I may have reinjured my previously sprained ankle trying (for the first time ever) Afronova on Expert. Great, just what I need before a dance competition... disgust.gif But oh well, it was fun! Especially to see a little girl, probably around 7-10, trying the game for (I think it was) her first time. Heehee... she played So Many Men of beginner, than standard... she bar raped on standard. Kinda funny to see that from her age... Bar Rape + So Many Men + Little Girl= FUNNY! E7.gif

The Vicious Nematoad!!! wrote:

like i mentioned earlier in this thread...i've also had toenail problems myself......

i believe though that this reason mainly is due to the new shoes that i got, cuz i never had that problem before.........do you feel this way after hurting you toenail with your new shoes?......just curious and wondering if we share the same opinion.....

Nobody answered this yet! I had no bloody toes till I switched to Nike Classic shoes. I don't think it was the shoes entirely, but the fact it had no hard toe-guard like you'll find on sprinter's shoes. My toes were slamming into the corner braces of the pad

So, in order to make this thread different from What's Grosser Than Gross? I offer this advice. Get shoes where the sole curls up on the toe and provides a fairly sturdy toe guard. You should be able to tap your toe on a hard floor and not feel it.

And this isn't expensive advice, either. I got cheap-lame (as opposed to Good-Cool) sneaks at Wal*Mart that fit the bill and I haven't had toe problems since. However, that new toenail is really malformed. goog.gif

Yep, scratch one toenail now. Why'd you rip it off yourself, Mel? Go to the doctor.

'Is this going to be excessively bloody?'
'Nope. *pries and prods* Wow. In fact, it's going to be excessively easy. *flicks wrist* Done.'

Of course, that was after he stuck 5 needles in my toe, and the anaesthetic made me all dizzy and nauseous.

I'm sick. I kept the toenail for a souvenir.

back when 5th mix came out, me andd my buddy jason were making a DXY routine, i was to jump over him onto the next pad, but by accident we both jumped at each other, hit each other, i feel into the bar and flipped over landing on my head and kinda bending my neck back, plus i hurt my ankle. I have this on video, if i ever encode it i'll put the link up here for you guys and gals to laugh at.... happy.gif

I just got off DDR only becuz of injury, i was playing stomp to my beat on standard and my left foot slipped and rolled to the side, making it perpendicular to the floor, and nearly fell over, somehow finished the song while my foot goes numb, stupid me, thinking its nothing, went and did R&P standard, now my foot hurts and my baby toe is tender....
and my other injury is major pulled muscles in the back of my right leg from over practicing my R&P routine with a high kick, im walking around with a limp now...
