Also, what exactly is the point of the unlock codes for extreme.

Two words: Internet ranking.

The codes allow for very specific time ranges - two weeks, in almost all cases - for Internet Ranking courses.

Besides, it keeps people interested and playing. If everything was unlocked at the beginning, you would've played everything on it and wouldn't have incentive to come back over the lifespan of the unlocks.

Hey, I have a roblem with the unlock codes. The Manager and I tried to input the unlock code for 1-25 on the DDR EXTREME machine in Hyannis, Mass. It didn't work. Does that mean we just won't get all the cool stuff on the machine here? Help! E2.gif

are you sure youve done everything correctly? U might have put a wrong letter in or something. The screen reads "REGISTRATION" when the code is correct.

Hey, Im a noob! biggrin.gif anyway, I’m here to ask, why are there numbers, like 1 to 5 or 1 to x. Shouldn’t it be more like, Sakura Unlock Code: XXXXXX-XXXXX ... I just don't understand the numbers and why there’s 1 to x: XXXXX-XXXXX.

That's how many things it will unlock. there are 30 unlock 'spots', and Konami is progressivly giving out codes that unlock more and more of them. So, there is a code that unlocks 1-10 : (code)... and then 1-x( code)

the 'x' is the highest number that individual code will unlock. You really only need the code with the highest x, and you're set. the only thing you enter in the machine is the code itself, not the 1-x.

1-25... Maybe you're looking at a Max2 code? Max2 and Extreme codes aren't interchangable. Like said before, you have to enter everything correctly, then hold < and > and press start. REGISTRATION should appear and you should get what you need if you put in 1-27 code.

Well, I finally figured out why my arcade’s Machine didn’t have the unlocks, and I also figured out the thing wif the numbers.

For the pplz who can’t get the code: Make sure they type the codes in CORRECTLY, and make sure when you press the two buttons and the green one, that it says REGISTRATION. Afterwards, MAKE SURE THE ARCADE DUDE DOESN’T GO TO INITIALIZE! Go to Exit, then game mode to test it! (That’s where my arcade dude stuffed up)

For the numbers, Entering Unlocks 1-5 works just as well as 1 to 27, just that it is easier to enter 1 to 27 cause it ALSO UNLOCKS 1-5. I dunno if that’s good enough explanation though…

Hope this helps E13.gif

First you put on your magic DDR hat. If you don't have one, PM me, I can arrange for the sale of one.

Then, you need to make sure the moon is in a waning crescent. MAKE SURE IT'S WANING, WAXING IS FOR MAX2 ONLY.

Next, find some Altoids. Crush them up into a fine powder, and sprinkle equal quantities over each of the arrows on the pad.

Now you'll need to check the flow of the drain in the basin of the pads. Turn the entire metal stage over (it looks heavier than it is), and find the hole on the bottom. Insert the official DDR funnel (again, if you need one, PM me), and pour in a caffeinated beverage of your choice. Mountain Dew works best, although dnL will work if it's an official upgrade and not a bootleg. If you're in the northern hemisphere and the drain is working, the liquid will drain clockwise. If you're in the southern hemisphere, it'll drain counter-clockwise. Make sure it's draining properly; if not, you need to clean the hair out of your pads using some Dran-o.

Now flip the pad back over and get some friends; you need to press EVERY BUTTON ON THE MACHINE AT ONCE. That means all four green arrows, both yellow buttons, the four arrows on each pad, and any coin return buttons. You have to press them SIMULTANEOUSLY. If you do this correctly, you will hear a short beep. If you don't hear the beep, try again.

Finally, you read the first post in this thread and follow the directions like you should have in the first place. E10.gif

(If you really have no idea how to get to the service menu, you more than likely don't own the machine and don't have any right to put the codes on it.)

Remy, you forgot one thing...

After you hear the beep, you have to put in the foot codes for Sudden Shuffle Flat Freeze Off Boost on both sides in under 5 seconds. If this is not done correctly, your machine will display a mesage saying "DO YOU PERMISSION FROM KONAMI TO UNLOCK SONGS?" and your machine will never be unlocked.

HOWEVER, if you manage to do that correctly, then put in the 3rd mix SSR code and it will take you to the Supar Sekrit Options Moed where you can unlock BMR's V, A, G2, The Legend of Let Them Move, and The Legend of Paranoia Survivor MAX300 Unlimited (only 450 BPM, nothing too bad).

Now for a serious question...

I have put in unlock codes about 10 times, and I'm just wondering... what exactly does happen when you Initialize?

As far as I know, Initialize clears the unlocks. It was a required step in unlocking a DDRMAX machine, but it didn't clear scores out.

And wow, I can't believe I still have this logon. Must get one for "Game Tech Chris" . . .

That is correct. Initialize just clears the memory as if nothing was ever put in.

Oh, I'm guessing you looked at DDRSpot's "1-25" code.. If i remember correctly, that's one of the earlier codes that'll unlock 1-24. Try posting in the NE boards and get other people in the Hyannis area to help out.

No, sorry...the "25" was a typo. I meant to type "24". And, we put the codes in again...and they worked. It was really quite odd, but thanks everyone riiight.gif

Sure, most arcades - at least, non-Namco arcades - are receptive to putting in the codes. If it's a Namco arcade, you might be able to convince them.

And for what it's worth, I knew you didn't own the machine - anyone who asks "how do I get to the service menu?" is pretty obviously isn't in a position to enter the codes, since the service button isn't hard to find once you open the coin mechanism.

I should set up a cafe press store...
