Anyone know what's up with bns? I ordered my pad like 3 weeks ago, and still haven't received anything. |

What should i do if the buttons are moving in the pad itself? The Up button is currently halfway in the center so i even have trouble walking through menus. Any quick fixes that will not have to do with cutting it open. If not, whats the best place to cut it open and should i just push it up? Is there any good prevention to this? Thank you. _________________

I have a RO ignition 2.0 and seem to have been having trouble with it. Whenever there's a long or fast set of jumps, I get all misses. I'm not a fantastic player, but I know I'm not missing those (It doesn't happen in the arcade). I checked the the buttons aren't on so theyare miss-stepping. does anyone know what the problem is, how to fix it, and why it only happens on jumps.(lately I've been missing other random steps, though)
Thanks.[/i] _________________

I've had the exact problem myself latley but on streams too. Only fast stepping ones though...well really only during the middle section of My summer love. But I have noticed it on jumps as well. I do Know that I'm hitting them though because of the raised arrows however so it still helps in the long run. It is disconcerting to see a stream of misses when I know I can hit though. _________________

I don't see any references to this type of pad, so I'm sorry if i am being redundant. Has anyone ever played or heard of Prima pads? I just got a soft one with no padding and i was wondering what they are like. Thanks

Thats the first thing I noticed on mine right before it got worse, and then went completely bad. Most likely what's happening is the arrow's are sticking probably just for like 1/4 to 1/2 a second, just long enough to get misses on fast steps. On mine, it eventually got worse, and now arrows will stick 1-2 seconds after I step on it. Fortuneately, it's still under warranty, so I'm getting it replaced.
It also helps to isolate the problem to, not only to figure what arrow is doing it, but where on the arrow. |

On the first page of this thread the poster stated that buying online is a "buyer beware" type situation. I have learned this the hard way. I bought two metal CG pads. $260.00. One of them didn't work, so I sent it back. +$50.00 shipping= $310.00. Three weeks later, I get the so-called replacement pad, which is a "hard" pad by dance performance with eight circular arrows. I have a feeling that this light plastic pad sucks buttocks, and would not be an equal to the CG pad I had paid for. Is it a decent pad, or should I just send it back? I'll post this on the metal pad discussion as I'm asking about something that's not a metal pad at all, but really isn't a soft pad. _________________

The smell of my Topways I now associate with when I first played DDR. It will bring nostalgia later on. |

Stickieds piss me off first off.
Now, do you think it'd be ok for me to add a BNS or Cyphergames Ignition beside my RedOctane ignition for doubles play? _________________

i just ordered the ddrmax + 2 non-slip pads bundle from seller yang32096 on eBay. seeing as how the stuff hasn't arrived yet, i'm expecting either topway pads or worse. however, from what i've gathered, modding the cheaper 3rd party mats works good. i'm planning on a carbon copy of the pad mod FAQ in the "tips and tricks" section, but i had a question about the hardwood floor cover/floor protector/clear vinyl stuff: when it comes down to it, there's a slick, flat side, and a textured side (12" squares.) the texture is hardly raised off of the surface of the vinyl itself, maybe a millimeter.
i was wondering, with accuracy solely in mind, should the textured side face the pad, or not?
EDIT: i tried sliding on the textured side in socks and in shoes (on carpet,) and it didn't work too well. the texture stops me. but, i was worried that with the texture side facing the pad, even the slightest miss could result in an unregistered step (due to the difference in the height of the vinyl.) any thoughts/experience on this issue? |

Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin. I'm just wondering if there is some huge difference in the height/feel of the pads, which I doubt there is. |
All Ignitions are pretty much the same, just make sure you get one with the same kind of foam. (black foam most likely) |

Hi guys,
I'm getting ready to pick up DDRMax for PS2 and a pad, which will be my first ever DDR home version - have played it very little in the arcade.
Anyway, I read some of the horror stories on this site about buying pads online, so I thought I'd go around all the local shops to see what they had, and this is what I found. Are any of these good starter pads, or should I bypass all of these and just risk getting one online? Basically, since this is my very first pad, I'm not looking to start out with a $300 metal pad, nor do I want one that's going to break down in 2-3 days either.
I'm looking for one that is reasonably well made and performs respectably in the intermediate levels. If I'm still playing by the time I get up that far, then I will probably invest in a hard pad. Anyway, here is what is availabe to me locally:
Most of the pads were in the $20-$30 price range - Mad Catz, Beat Pad, Cosmo Pad, Revolution 2, and MyMyBox High Energy.
However, at Frys, they also had the following MyMyBox Pads:
Professional: $40
Arcade style: $50
Premiere: $70 (has like 1 inch of foam padding)
There was also a hard pad called the something like the 'Performance Pad MMX' for $150, but they were sold out and on back order.
Are any of these pads suitable for an absolute beginner?
Thanks for reading |

HOLY SHIT those look nice!
They actually look a bit like the MYMYBox Ignition 2.5 pads, though there may be internal differences. One thing that's apparent: they went to black foam... I dunno, anyone brave enough to buy one?
edit: I did a little more looking around for this pad. Cypher Games is selling it for $40, and it can be found on ebay for $25. So far, there doesn't seem to be any deals with 2 pads or a bundle. However the person selling these on ebay, plegend2001, has a VERY high rating (15178 with 97.8% positive), so it might be worth a shot. |
I just bought one of these from that eBay seller, but I haven't received it yet. I was wondering if it would need any mods and if so, which ones are best for it? |
