So what's the best adapter out there? I've been reading all these old posts that date back to August and I was just wondeirng if anything has changed. So far I've read that the EMS USB2 is the best for Win2K and XP, but does it work with Win98?

Yea the EMS USB2 does work. I had it for a couple weeks now. It's great to use with zsnes so you can use a psx controller to play snes games.

Yes, the EMS adapter works great. You can buy it at www.levelsix.com. It cost $14.99 and I got UPS ground and the total was $21 something. It came a week from the day I ordered it. Mine was black, and the picture of it on the site was white, but black looks much more spiffy.

I'm guessing it will. I know for the PS, it has one side for a controller and the other for a gun. Then for the PC, you can use both sides for controllers. So you can play computer games with it. Go to levelsix, and products and find it, then look up the info. It tells you whats compatible. On the box it says " Supports Dual Shock 2 and most PS compatible joy pads."

Stinkin EMS better work. I spent like 25 bucks on an adapter that didn't work before, and now I read in the forum on cobaltflux.com that someone said the EMS adapter wouldn't pick up left & right together. If it doesn't work, I'm going to fly out there and rip someone's arm off, and proceed to beat them to death with it. frust.gif

It works for cobalt flux's. The owner of the company told me he uses the EMS adapter to play his DWI.

So far I'm leaning towards the EMS USB. But my question is, will it work with Stepmania AND Ignition 2.0 pads?

So, is the EMS USB2 better than the PS Joy Converter (USB) ?

I just received my EMS USB2. I'm very dissappointed with the results too. The pads I use (Ignition 2.0...and yes they work fine with the PS2) work and all but there is a little delay when I'm playing on Stepmania. This delay is enough to make me fail any song on Heavy because all my perfects turn into either goods, almosts, or boos. I read everyone elses review expecting this to work perfectly disgust.gif If any of you know a solution to fix this than that would be great, but I doubt there is.

And yes I have ignore axis on. Would this converter work better with DWI perhaps?

well, I got a EMS USB2 adapter this monday, it is the color black (no complaints there). I have the Cyphergames ignition v1.0 pads. I had to set the buttons individually on stepmania, and it works PERFECTLY with no lag. MAKE SURE THE SWITCH ON THE ADAPTER IS TO PC, NOT GAME. I got this adapter WITH shipping for $18.50 at http://www.jandaman.com. ground shipping was 4 days since I purchased, they have a GREAT return policy, and a good price. The adapter has also been approved on stepmania.com...

Mine is black too. The adapter is set to PC and I had to set all the buttons individually but, still having the same problem. frust.gif

Edit: As I was playing DWI, I wanted to try doubles. As I went to configure the 2nd pad, it wouldn't configure at all. In fact the game completely froze. So for some reason I can't use the 2nd pad on DWI but it works fine on PS2. Now, on Stepmania I'm able to do all the configuring for both pads but it won't let me choose versus or doubles mode disturb.gif Nothing seems to be working in my favor tonight. Anyone else run into this problem?
