(Aargh! Yes, the great American actor, Alex Baldwin. I of course meant *Alec*. My apologies.)

I do think the short version of Boom! goes great with the visuals (and yes, I realize the visuals are built around the song) for the title... almost wish it were an original song like the opening to FreQuency (that IS an original song, innit?), but pretty good. IGN's reviewer had an interesting comment about the game, along the lines of: "...I don't care for 90% of the bands in the game, and I still love playing it... if the sequel actually contained songs I actually despised, would it still be fun remixing them?"

Speaking of remix, I do sorely miss the precise vocal editing and separate scratch/axe tracks that play in Jukebox mode... listen to say, DeVron's Smooth Operation mix of Dub Pistols' Official Chemical and you'll see what I mean. Admittedly, most of my remixes are less rearrangements as they are overtly following the guide beats, erasing to have the song build up/break down at the points I want, changing notes that don't sound right, and adding effects in the scratch track (when it still had samples, y'know.) Still, I do like being able to skip directly from one phrase to another, and being able to erase one note at a time...

Well, anyway, just a few clarifications. I feel like an idiot about the little details I leave out...

yeah, i just about fell out of my chair when i heard the "you made your FreQ so uber-chic" line, that was hilarious biggrin.gif and yes, the song was made for Amp since Freezepop saw a HUGE surge in fans after so many people found out about them from hearing SGG in FreQuency

Quick, random notes...

1. I agree about Dieselboy... I liked Styles of Beyond's Subculture when it was on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (certainly more than, say, B-Boy Document), and this is a heck of a solid remix.

2. The censorship of music is a double-edged sword here (which, of course, says absolutely nothing, but bear with me)... For instance, would anyone want the original Pro Skater (sorry, I love those games too) to be rated M because the title song is about a group of hoods who steal a police truck and cruise around in it beating up drunks and, let's come right out and say it, raping prostitutes? Other than the explicit lyrics, Police Truck is a great song... I can see silencing certain lyrics, breaking up the tempo to some extent ("There's three of us baby so ...... ..... let's ride"), but I certainly agree that it does seem Bowdleristic to remove the word "cigarette" in Dope Nose.

3. Favorite Amplitude song so far, probably "Boom! (TCM Remix)"... Yeah, I know, I know, but it's a great song to play the game to. "Super Spr0de" and "Subculture" possibly round out the top three. (I don't even know, you ask? Well, right now, those are my favorites, let's put it that way.) Favorite FreQuency songs: "Official Chemical," "Ex-Girlfriend," and "Frequency."

You can get a 4th score bar on all of the songs, as far as I know, but you need very high scores to do it.

davidbrit's got it.... score high enough, you'll see a 4th score bar. I've only done it on a small handful of brutal songs, but back on normal I've racked up a bunch E1.gif

Same here. I haven't had as much of a chance to play the game, but I'm just starting to work through Insane now. Having trouble just finishing the Chris Child song at the moment. frown.gif

Wait until you get to Synthesized >_< It's not incredibly difficult (per se), but it's more difficult then Shades of Blue (which I found to be extremely easy, but so much fun).
