I think I'm going to try to mod my controller also. I really want as close to arcade quality as possible, and rubber stoppers under the buttons don't help. I order a bunch of crap from Happcontrols.com, but using the pushbuttons or switches for a IIDX control could be quite interesting. I know I use happcontrols.com to buy new crap for my local arcade and for my X-Arcade controller. _________________

And you mentioned memories as an easy flashing 7? I find that song to be sort of tough(even though i get an A on it), certainly it blows away red nikita in terms of difficulty.
|
Memories is just a bunch of double-presses. It's quite easy to score on. I passed it with an A my first try. Red Nikita on the other hand, I can barely get a C on. *shrugs*
omega burrito: did you play Lab on a simulator or arcade? If it's the former, you're not playing it in it's entirety. The scratches are what make the song hard. |
sim with IIDX controller. difficulty cranked up as high as it could go.
i couldn't beat it on another cause of the scratches, but on 7 keys i was rocking it. |

i have a random comment / question, and since this is the official iidx random crap thread, i'm dumping it here.
after much training-mode whoring, i've managed to beat my first 3 6's...Romeo & juliet 7-key, and sync and frozen ray L-7. does anyone have any suggestions as to what songs i should tackle next?
...and if you say the safari, i'll punch you in the throat! _________________

If you can do Romeo and Juliet, I'd mention Solid Gold as a song for you to work on. However, it's on 7th style, so you can't play it yet except in arcades. _________________

Mine's are:
dj TRAN (white haired girl in cyan dress that first appeared in 2nd Style's Indigo Vision vid)
The girl in Y31
Ereki (white haired tan-skinned guy from 6th Style)
Shi-Low (scary-looking guy from 5th Style)
Yuri Aida (3-D girl from vids featuring cars, such as Dive)
But my most favorite character is Celica (magenta-haired girl from 3rd Style). Scary thing about her is that her shirt fits perfectly on her body.

Ereki is my favorite. I even have him on my Unix background in programming. I just used the g2 arts.
Also, my flamechampion in suikodenIII is named Ereki. _________________

to unlock everything:
play: Yesterday, A New Morning, and Night of Fire and get any position on the scoreboard. They can be done on any difficulty as long as you get a ranking score. Clear the scores if you can't get on as it is.
Enter : '2DX6' as your name entry. LET THE WHOLE ENDING GO when it goes back to the main menu, it should have everything unlocked. _________________

I've cleaned out beginner mode, have most of L7 done except for one 4 (HYPER BOUNDARY GATE, GRR ><), some 5's and all 6's except VJ army.
I have some gallery pics, and all tetsujin vids except the last one.
I also have a handful of secret songs, and no hidden EX courses...what do I have to do to unlock things? o.o |
The gallery pics all have different requirements... and Konami has posted all of those specific requirements on 6th Style CS's website. The tatsujin videos are unlocked by simply clearing songs. If you want that last video you'll need to clear every song, on either L7 or 7. As for the hidden Expert courses, umm.. I believe you can start unlocking those by simply clearing the Expect courses that you DO have access to.
.. or you can do what fluxx posted, but that's not nearly as satisfying as clearing everything manually. |
