I agree. 2 speed makes a lot of songs playable. Winter is on Priemere 2, dony know if it's on the first one, though. I got Winter a couple of days after i got Will O the Wisp. Crazy isn't that bad, but division mode, well that's a different story _________________

anyone here that is really good want to show the local PIU crowd here off?? everyone here is(including me) can do most of the hard songs and none of the crazy songs.
if they didnt charge a damn dollar a game i might be able to practice more. |
Where do you guys play? My Buddy Juicy and I will go.

i dont play doubles that often, but i do have a friend who has passed a ton of the harder songs on doubles. I just like to watch, or more specificly, watch the expressions on others faces. _________________

Whereabouts in Kentucky are you located? I'm from Virginia and it wouldn't be TOO much of a stretch for us to go there.. someday. I don't know if we meet your "very good" criteria, but I like to think I'm above average. Also, what mix do you guys play on? |

I live in Lexington. But if my memory serves me right, Woodbridge is like near Maryland aint it? Yikes! Thats like 250 miles away! We play on a PREX machine but I doubt you want to come here. The place me and my friend usually play got really gay. On the weekends if you are 12-18, you got to pay 10 bucks to get in. Me being a old dork at 20 dosent really care, until my crowds and 15 year old groupies cant come in anymore because the stadium(the place where we play) wants to cut down on traffic..... also it used to be a dollar to play 3 songs(a little pricey but oh well what u gonna do? ) now its 1.50 to play! It was so gay! I put in 10 bucks only to get to play 5 times!! And the usual people who come play, werent there(thank god one of them is a big hippie
asshole) but these korean dudes were there and they were doing all of the songs on crazy fast and passing them. When we got to Loner on hard and started to suck at the second part, they were literally trashing us in korean!!! IT SUCKED!!!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!! I really think this is the last time I will play PIU here unless im really bored.. From now on I guess ill have to go to Cinncinatti to play PIU and DDR, Im so gonna complain to them when I get the chance. |

Okay, I just got to play a Pump It Up Premiere not to long ago, and I need to ask, what did they do with the arrows? They look so stupid! I had a hard time watching them. The arrows in PIU Perfect Collection are perfect, and they had to go and change that. Is there a code or something I could use to get a different look? |

WHAT?!?! I started playing PIU on Premiere, and when I played Perfect Collection, I was like "What the hell is with these SEE THROUGH arrows that flash? "
Premiere steps are SOLID and easier to see. Maybe they could do withou tthe ORANGE/LIGHT BLUE color and stick with Red and Blue, but that doesn't matter to me.
The problem with Perfect Collection steps is that you play a song like Pom Pom Pom, where the backgroud video is VERY yellow, and it's hard to see the middle step when it scrolls up.
Same with BG videos that have a lot of dark RED and BLUE in them, it becomes very hard to see the steps of the same color. If they didn't 'flash' and leave emptiness in between the spaces, it would be fine. At one point, the arrows are completely hollow and void of any color. That makes them hard to see, in my opinion. |

Well I finally got to play on a Prex machine and I gotta say, Prex is HARD. I always considerred myself pretty decent, but some of those songs are waaaay out of my range of skill. Not only that, but the levels are completely whacked. I made the mistake of picking Can Can Double (Level 4 I think) and was completely destroyed. I swear there's songs on there that are way over the level 10-12 songs found on Premiere 2. That's not to say that I don't like the machine, infact I thought it was awesome, but after learning on a P2 it's a totally different world. |

got my first "real" experience with PIU this past weekend at D&B in providence and I just have to say i enjoyed it a lot. A bunch of my friends bit the bullet (after a few drinks ) and came up to play as well, and i think the collection of music they actually knew (even tho it's not a favorite obviously, "bye bye bye" is at least a tune people recognize, plus others) helped add to the fun factor.
my one question is, what exactly is the mod code for ghost? One game I had my arrows appearing only a beat before i needed to hit them and i had NO idea how i turned it on I just want to know so i dont accidentaly turn it on again in the future heh. fortunately it was an easy song so i kept us alive but if we were playing something harder it would have sucked |

I can beat Larpus Double consistently with a C, but I could probably get a B if I didn't screw up the triple/quad sequence at the end. |

I mean, I can do Loner, Turkey March, Ultramania, Solitaire and others on friggin' Crazy Mode and yet I cannot seem to beat Larpus on Hard Mode. It's really starting to piss off, I just cannot get my head around this song. Any tips on how to do it? |

Tell Me about it. Trash Man Cannot be a LV3 song. That has 16ths all over the place at >170 BPM. Same with Monkey Magic. Loner is a LV 5 on Crazy. Plays almost exactly like Hard, but add in a couple more rapid runs and two jsjsjsj sequences. Larpus is not a 10 on Crazy. More like 20, which is twice as hard as the MAXes (on DDR). I say that MAX300 is the middle of the road Crazy song. Just My Opinion. On the PREX machine, it says that Starian is a LV__ on Doubles. Does anyone know the level? _________________

The "true" levels for the XX songs are easy to figure out. Just add 7 or 8 to the XX level. _________________

What makes Larpus so hard is that its very turn heavy. If you're good at turning your body every which way to hit each step, it shouldn't be TOO difficult. If you're not so good at turning though, this song will eat you alive. The best advice I can give is to play the hell out of it, and if you have Kick It Up, slow the song down and practice it there. Pretty much the whole song can be done by just alternating your feet, without sliding, except for one part a little past halfway that I think is a spin, where I just opt to slide because I don't like to face away from the screen. Don't get discouraged, Mr Larpus is a milestone in every Pumper's career, and it definately requires as much, if not more technique than any DDR song. |

Yep. That was my problem for the longest. I was so use to ddr turns that trying them in PUI ate me alive for the longest. But, with all things, it just takes some practice _________________

I know this is probably off topic, but today I just witnessed someone play Slam on Crazy mode with the help of a 4x speed mod (something I don't plan on doing for awhile). Jeez! That was insane! He didn't pass the stage, but he did very well from what I saw. It nearly puts MAX 300 to shame. I also watched him do Mr. Larpus on doubles... failed near the very end, but it was so cool. I didn't know you could successfully bar-rape with two bars. I think he tried Slam on doubles too, if I remember. |
