Or maybe, just MAYBE, the Japanese guys had PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE! Maybe they played it A LOT! To practice and build up their skill! I know it's a stretch, but it just might be posssible they sucked when they first started! Just like us filthy Western barbarians!
Grow up. Japanese aren't innately better than we are. _________________

HAW HAW LET'S BE INSULTING!
Anyway, here's where I saw DDR -
We have a DDR club at our high school, where at lunch we just fire up DDRMAX on our PS2 and play on some modded pads. The principal came in once and watched us dance.
In the latest parent newsletter, he praises the diversity of the clubs at our school, and one of them he lists is the "DDR (Digital Dance Revolution)" club.
Laugh away, because some school official got 1/3 words in the acronym wrong, but heck, that makes a lot more sense, doesn't it? Digital Dance Revolution almost completely describes what the thing really is.
At least it's better than ARROW SMASH!!#!# LOLO@@O@@ LOLO _________________

Also, responding to Sexy Knight Of Mardi Gras before he asks (since his other thread got locked):
"The Earth Light" is in DDR Konamix, and it is the song from the City1 area in the original Zone of the Enders (of course, they're both by Konami). I don't know if it appears on any other mixes, and I sorta forgot who it's by, but I did notice that when I first played Konamix. It's so cool how in ZOE you can change the music by performing different actions. That's what makes The Earth Light so cool, since you can sorta envision Jehuty doing some different maneuvers as you dance to it.
Heheh, someone should do an Earth Light freestyle. _________________

DDR was in my newspaper...
I get a Weekend section every once in a while, and this time the center story was all about DDR and some VCU/Virginia locals who play the game all the time. It had a huge close up picture of a guy's feet who was playing on the front, and a few more pictures... and just about an entire page-length article on it. YAY! |

I saw ddr in my school newspaper, and the Bismarck Tribune.
I also saw a really weird one on Yu-Gi-Oh where it had like 15 panels shaped like triangles rectangles and squares even. and the arrows went from the center of the screen outward . Anyway the chick and some dancer guy duked it out in part of the show and the chick spanked his little monkey candy @$$ (that don't prove that girls be better than guys) _________________

There's an easy reason to this as well. I forgot who mentioned this to me, but AFAIK, LED Light is part of the main music team for the ZOE series. _________________

Hey thanks. I knew the song, just couldn't think of the name. And you're right, the song matches Jehuty perfectly. _________________

i heard El Ritmo Tropical when i was watching Police Academy. When the main guy tricks the student officers to go to a gay bar, when one of them was dancing with this guy, El Ritmo Tropical played. of course, Police Academy was made waaaaaay before DDR, i dont think this was really a ddr sighting, but still, its El Ritmo Tropical. Also, in the Waterboy, when they all go to that party, Lets Groove was playing. |

But it was obviously a ddr machine and Matt was looking purty stupid on it dragging Lizzie all over the place.
P.S. LONG LIVE HILARY DUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Did you also see it on Even Stevens? You see the 1st mix three times in a row!!! |

I just want to comment on the similarity of Kakumei to the Indiana Jones theme....think about it...the first opening bars of music in Kakumei sound just like the IJ theme!!! _________________

Well, here's one from me. Just got back from my Senior Class Trip to Orlando, FL. Saw DDR Extreme, USA, and the regular ones. Drew quite a large crowd. Somehow, some girl unlocked trick mode on the original, but I forgot what she did to do it. I did pretty decent. Loads of A's and SS's. _________________
