Ok, after reading all 18 pages straight, i came to the conclusion:

EMS USB2 is the PSX2PC adapter to choose for win2k and xp
BUT, i have heard some ppl asking about selfmad metal pads and which Adapter would work for Them.

Why should EMS not work for these boards? can any1 answer me that qestion? I want to buy a Adapter and build me one of these nice pads and use it withh Stepmania, DWI and DDRforPC

Thx in advance

Hi!

I've been lurking around the forums for a while, reading up on pads and adapters. I finally made some decisions--got DDR PC, ordered an EMS USB adapter, and ordered a soft pad (just to start with).

Well, finally all the stuff came in the mail, so I installed the EMS adapter w/ software on my win2k system. Plugged everything in and all looked good. In the game controller properties, when I pressed on a button, it registered that I had pressed it. All buttons show that it works right.

All looked good--but once I started up DDR PC, the down key acted like it was stuck. The main screen's selection cursor kept scrolling down continuously. Pressing the up key would offset it, but as soon as I let go, the down-scrolling would continue. In the game controller properties, the down key works just fine, however.

I tried re-installing the drivers, but it didn't fix anything. And the EMS software doesn't allow for calibrating the pad.

Anyone else ever have this problem? Any fix for it or did I just get a bad EMS adapter? I notice that when I unplug the pad from the adapter, the down scrolling still happens. So I don't think it is a faulty pad. It leads me to believe its the adapter, but I wanted to ask around to see if there was a fix?

Thanks so much for reading my long post!

If I have to return it, that means another few weeks of no DDR for me. =[

I have a parallel port adaptor and directpad drivers but my pad will not work. The up down left right buttons use 13-16 buttons. How do I reassign the buttons so I can use all of the buttons on my topway dance pad? Please help. I have Windows 98.

Alrighty, here's the deal...I just recently got my hands on a pair of BNS DX-Xtreme pads (which are great, by the way), and they came with a pair of LPT (parallel port) adapters. I tinkered with a bunch of different drivers and such for a while, but then just gave up in favor of my PS2. Unfortunately, I'm running WinME, and I'm having a hard time finding a driver that works. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks!

Thanks,

N.N.T. Barton ~IIDX '1080,

I have built that adapter and it works great for DDR PC, but does NOT work for DWI unless I am completely missing something. The Kiki X-series USB adapter also works great for DDR PC, but does NOT work for DWI. I'd love to try DWI if someone knows how to make either of these adapters work with it.

Thanks,
mactek

www.levelsix.com

EMS USB 2 Adapter, works wonders if u wanna use ur PSx Dance Pad on ur pc for DDRPC, Stepmani, or DWI, this adapter is byfar the best and if I'm correct the only working USB adapter for pc that maps directions to buttons instead of x and y axis.
