EMS works like a dream. I use Windows 2000, all I had to do was plug it in, config DWI (takes less than five minutes) and play.

Now I just need a good metal pad.

I just revieved my EMS USB2 adapter, and it doesn't seem to work with the drivers supplied.

It has the same problems as my first had .. what do I need?

(when I say wont work, I mean it only uses 2 axis..They say it works for sure, but I can't get it to..>.<;E13.gif

Update: Seems it only works with DWI for me .. DWI works fine, Stepmania, the one I like best, doesn't work at all for me.

Can someone who is using this adapter, give some system specs? I have no clue what is going on wrong, but Stepmania will absolutely NOT work. DWI works fine, no problems, but I really don't like its format, I'd much rather be able to play Stepmania. I'm on Windows XP, with DX 9. something, the newest one that just came out, on a p4 3. blah blah ghz, I don't see why there would be a problem, I've got the drivers installed, I've fooled with ignoring axis's but nothing. I have no idea how to use joy2key either, so that is no help.

http://www.levelsix.com/products/playstation/PSXPC_Adapter.shtml

^^ Bought two of those on complete and utter faith. Luckily, both of them turned out to work perfectly with Stepmania on two completely different boxes. E4.gif First computer is an Athlon XP 2000+, 512 RAM, GF4 Ti4200, WinXP. Second is an old 700 MHz something-or-other, 256 RAM, Windows 98. Had no problems whatsoever. I may even buy another one if I decide to get another pad for doubles. E1.gif

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm using a Red Octane Ignition pad. Very nice soft pad, but I still want a metal one. E13.gif

Well, no matter what I try, it wont work with stepmania, so again I ask if anyone with the EMS USB2 can post some info so I know whats wrong.

I mean, DWI works fine, jumps, everything .. its just .. That program isn't my favorite.. Stepmania is by far what I'd rather use.. But with step mania, even by changing input options, It wont register those L/R U/D jumps. I'm begging for help with this .. ^.^;

Because that adapter maps to Axes, not buttons. It cannot work with opposite directions.

I did get it to work with my custom made pad, but I have a different workaround

I implemented switches in my custom controller to re-route the pad's signals from the D-pad to the Buttons. It works just fine with the simplest of PSX adapters now, and on Stepmania, and still works on my PSX mixes =).

To Tao: Unless you have a DualShock on analog mode, EMS takes the input from the D-Pad as an X/Y axis movement, a button press, AND a Z-Rotation/Whatever the Hell. I just used a DualShock to config it with Stepmania. There's probably another way though, failing that.

Probably, but at that price it would be just as easy to buy an EMS, wouldn't it?

I c h i r o, You are a life saver ^.^ Finally, I can play stepmania with my pad, I'm never leaving my room again, Lol ^.^;

(so for anyone having Stepmania problems, just edit steps with the controller, not the pad. I feel stupid for fumbling with it so long, and not thinking of that ^.^E13.gif
