For newbies (they gave the impression that they were) they were REAL good. Doing jumping spins and not missing a step. So funny. Too bad many people who first get up there have trouble with Have You Never Been Mellow. Oh well. That's Hollywood for ya.

No, it was on basic. They were supposed to be acting immature by playing it at Chinatown and they weren't half bad. I think it was Dub-I-Dub, Alice and Johnny were teh characters and they were freestyling. That's all it is in a nutshell.
iT WAS NOT IN CHINATOWN! It Was in my arcade called "FAC". The Family aracde in L.a!

while i was playin my little cousin was watchin yugioh and calld me cuz he said he saw a dance game. i couldnt believe it so i went over and saw the yugioh girl dancing on a pad with about 10 triangle buttons. Apparently, she was "dueling" with this other guy who was not appreaciating the game by "cheating" (pushing her cuz the point of the game was to look cool while dancing) The ddr type game came complete with some dud in the background sound saying "youre awesome!" or "what is this?" oh well ne thats where i saw ddr

Not sure if this was said yet, but on the show Fast lane the two main characters were at an arcade playing ddr. It was pretty cool to see it getting more and more popular instead of fading away.

I originally wanted to play DDR when I read about it in the comic book Gen13, they played home and arcade, even to the point of complaining about 1/32 notes.

Saw a link to the video page on ddrfreak in the January issue of OPM. Pretty funny the text they put with it. Something like "...DDR Tournament Videos (Yes they have them)..." and "If you can get perfect without looking at the screen, you are hardcore."

My teacher was talking about installation in a house and he wrote on the board something about R3 so I thought it was kind of humerous.

Sometimes, when the Metron hosts Extended Play, you can see DDR USA in the background while Adam Sessler is talking. I remember a demonstration (by the machine) of the two disk people playing "I Believe in Miracles." Kinda cool.

I wrote an article about DDR for my school's paper when Konamix came out. Later that year, the DJ at the prom (a friend of mine) played a few songs from some of my soundtracks. I remember .59 was a big hit, and Dynamite Rave Long Version. He also threw in a couple TaQ songs, but I'm not sure if that counts.

A couple weeks ago, I was featured on my local cable access channel by way off DDR. They were doing some show about things to do in the county, and came to Hyperspace. They had just got a machine, and I was totally tearing it up. I must've played five sets (sets, not songs. That's 15 songs) before I realized they had a camera on me. They interviewed me about the game, had me explain it, then the host tried to play it.

That weekend, the place was nearly packed with people who came to see the game (and possibly me, since I'm the only one around here playing Heavy songs and I'm the only freestyler).

About the Yu-Gi-Oh thing;

Konami makes the games, so they get a shameless plug! E13.gif
