OK. I figure it's time to clear up any and all confusion concerning Event Mode and Endless Mode.

Endless Mode appeared in the home versions of 2nd-4th MIXes (EDIT: Extra MIX also. Oops!), and has not been in any US PlayStation version. Endless Mode allows you to select a difficulty (Basic, Trick/Another, Maniac/SSR or Random), set up modifiers, and then basically will select songs randomly for you. You will play one song after another until you either fail or quit. Every five songs, you'll be given the opportunity to take a short break.

Event Mode is not an alternate game mode at all, but a setting activated in the Options menu used in conjunction with the main Game Mode (all other modes, such as Workout, are not affected). It is common to many arcade games, and is usually turned on when the machine is used at a trade show, tournament or other event. In DDR, Event Mode basically prevents the game from ever ending. If you clear a whole set, the game resets to Stage 1 and you return to Music Select. If you fail a song, the game resets to Stage 1 and you return to Music Select. (In DDRMAX and later, you cannot fail a song in Event Mode.) Event Mode will allow you to choose any song you have unlocked up to that point, including Long Versions in 5th MIX (normally you cannot choose Long Versions on 1st or Final Stages). Secret songs that have not been unlocked will not appear... sorry.

Event Mode is used slightly differently in different types of games. For example, when it's activated in Tekken Tag/Tekken 4, one credit will join both players in the game, and the entire game will be over after one battle (the game will return to the demo loop). This prevents the operator from having to reset the machine after each round of a tournament.

Endless Mode is also on Extra Mix, don't forget. When you said 2-4th mix that could be interperted differently, ecspessially sine extra mix came out AFTER 4th.

This is absolutely not true. You can unlock all the songs in Event Mode. The only difference is that in the 5th mix, long version songs count as 2 songs for playing and unlocking purposes but only 1 when played in event mode. There's nothing stopping you from playing nonstop in eventmode and unlocking all the songs.

Since I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet...

DDR Disney Mix
NTSC-US/C

This is the American release of Disney's Rave, and in some ways it's an improvement over the original. It features the entire Disney-based songlist of DR (minus Electrical Parade), several of the mainstream songs from DR (some notable exceptions are Johnny B. Goode and Macarena) and several 4thMIX/DDRMAX Konami Originals (Let The Beat Hit 'Em, Higher, My Summer Love, B4U, Midnite Blaze and Share My Love). It also includes an unlockable Maniac Single mode, which was missing from DR. Other than that, it's pretty much the same (i.e. Dance Magic mode, Workout Mode, Training Mode, no Edit mode).

Pros:
+ Maniac steps.
+ Dance Magic mode (a whole new way to play versus!)
+ Night of Fire (Why wasn't this song ever in any other version of DDR?!)

Cons:
- Small songlist.
- Easy grading system (You can get an AAA without a full combo).
- No Maniac double.
- Choppy graphics.

If I remember correctly, Oha is a combination of music from a popular kid's TV channel in Japan and some Konami Originals (the songlist's on DDR). The only ones you'd recognize are Brilliant2U, Keep On Movin', Cutie Chaser (Morning Mix) and Make A Jam. I don't know anything else about it.

Uhhh... I think you need to read what I said more carefully. "Secret songs that have NOT been unlocked will not appear." I'm not saying you can't unlock the songs you haven't unlocked yet! I'm simply saying that if you haven't unlocked a song already, it won't magically appear just because you switched on Event Mode.

Don't knock DDR OHA! until you try it. Sure the song list is super short, but it's worth it. I think Why?~The Zona Song~-Super Para Para Mix- sums it up. E1.gif

Note the fact that it says PSX BACKUPS. That means that you better have a modchip or bootdisc cuz those games are illegally burned. that's why they're so cheap.
