Now that I'm able to change the poll on the front page...

This thread will be open from time to time so that people can give ideas as to what polls they think would be good for the front page. Couple rules:

1) This thread will not always be open. Sometimes I will lock it and then reopen it at a later time. This is so that it will be more manageable and not get overwhelmed with a bunch of posts. If I need/want ideas I'll open it. If it starts to get flooded with dumb ideas or I have a couple good ones, I'll close it. I may delete off topic/dumb ideas as well just to keep this thread manageable.
2) Dumb polls are just that.
3) Read between the lines on number 2.
4) Give me the question of the poll and options for it. I may change them around a little bit.
5) Just because you post here does not mean that your idea will be put on the front page.
6) I'm not the only one changing the poll, blue^ and JDogg do too, so that also means that you won't necessarily see your idea up right away.

How many friends have you met through DDR? More specifically, people that you are still friends with/still talk to, and that you do things with besides playing DDR.

It might be interesting to poll the ownership of various US releases. Over the course of a month, you could post polls to see roughly what percentage of visitors own what US releases (one mix per week.)

It could look something like this:

Do you own a copy of [insert mix here]?

-Yes
-No, but I'm planning on getting it
-No, I don't want it
-No, I don't have a PSX/PS2
-No, but I used to have it


Just rotate the poll through DDR, DDR Disney Mix, DDR Konamix, and DDR Max. This is one I would actually watch to see the results. And who knows? Maybe Jason Enos could use the marketing data to convince Konami to release more US home versions. ;-)

That would be nice. I doubt Enos would really need it not only because it's anonymous and so unreliable, but also because he gets marketing data elsewhere. He told me that with Konamix they sold about 150,000 to stores, and about 100,000 of that sold to people. This was like beginning of October. He was hoping Max US would sell more than that, and I'm pretty sure it did, although I haven't heard any exact numbers =D

But we can still do that poll just for fun.

Yeah, the poll probably wouldn't be tremendous help to Jason, but it might make a nice Power Point slide to show a quick trend among the more hardcore members of the fan base. But in any case, it would still be neat to find out.

Maybe a question on how often do you play double?

1) 0% - never/don't play DDR
2) 1-20% of the time
3) 21-40% of the time
4) 41-60% of the time
5) 61-80% of the time
9) 81-100% of the time

I'm not sure how many options it would need, you could easily screw around with the %s, it would just be interesting to see how many people actually play double out there.

Another possible question would be on skill level - (I haven't seen one exactly like this at least)

In single mode, which of the following categories best describes your skill level. (Pick the highest one that you can beat most of the songs of.)

1) don't really play
2) 1-3
3) 4-6
4) 7-8
5) 9-10
