I'm trying to get a kit to play doubles on my computer and wand to know where's the best place to do so AND WHAT is the best kit to buy.

So far I think this is a very valid question for all us newbies so I started a thread and want to know if you can post your thoughts on it.

http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=37711

I have made a pretty good investigation but as I said I'm a newbie and need the help of the experts of this forum.

Thanks

I ordered two BNS Ultra-DX pads and the USB adapter, + it came with a parrell free. The parrell works perfectly with DDRPC/DWI/Stepmania, the USB works with DDRPC (THough \/ /\ combo doesn't work well), but with dwi and Stepmania, it will only allow me to use the left and right arrows and all the other buttons, The up and down arrows do nothing.
Any ideas, or just return it?

What you want is the EMS usb adaptor for playing doubles.

anyone have any idea when lik-sang.com will be back up? i've heard nothing but positive comments about the regular boom psx>usb adapter, so that's what i'd like to get.

also, can anyone confirm that the boom converter at lik-sang is the same as the redoctane one?

I have the same problem but my Kiky Joy works slightly except for the fact that it is a half a beat late every time you step.

Sweet, I have the redoctane pad, I don't like it because it doesn't respond good. Well it's not as good as the arcade pads, well home pads are never gonna be like the arcades. But yeah, I'm gonna look into that because I wanna pratice songs with dwi.
Oh will the pads work with dwi?

The adapter you can get from Red Octane is the one made by Boom with the detatchable USB cable... It cost about $24 with shipping... And I plugged it into the back of my WinXP Pro box and it worked fine... No driver install, nothing... I just went into My Computer>Control Panel>Game Controllers and there it was... I then loaded up DWI, went to the options stuff and set my input device as a gamepad... I then configured the buttons... Within 5 minutes of opening the adapter box, I was dancing away to DWI bliss...

If that was to me, I used the one from www.redoctane.com... It only lists "third party", but the third party is Boom... Here's a link to RO's product page: http://www.redoctane.com/psjoyconusb.html

Hope this helps!

ok i got my EMS USB2 adapter from levelsix.com and it's awesome. i play it with a mymybox 6 button metal pad and dwi on windows xp and it works flawlessly. i haven't had a single problem at all, in fact all i did was plug it in and my dance pad, and everything was detected, i didn't have to do any work at all! it has two slots for controllers so you can play doubles using a single USB port if you wanted.

Hi all, this is Junta. Most of y'all are familiar with my website with the working adapters.

I haven't posted in forever, because I have been extremely busy with school and stuff. What's been going on lately? Any new adapters that kick?

I still use my ol' EMS adapter, which I still think is the best adapter so far. But I haven't been doing anymore updates on the ol' site, so someone clue me in. E10.gif
