mayb the 2 port one from BNS, does anyone have a review of that one? btw my comp is on win xp pro.

I can tell you that the 2 port one from BuyNShop Does NOT work with dance pads. First of all it does not map the directional arrows to buttons so therefore you cannot do "<>" or "\/ /\" jumps. However, they SAY that it is designed for dance pads because of the way they tried to make it work. If you DO press left and right at the same time, it actually fluxuates a signal of "left right left right left right" really really fast to the computer. That makes it impossible to do any freeze arrows, because they're not staying pressed. IT ALSO means that the jumps sometimes don't register at all because they're not being pressed at the same time! Also, DWI does not recognize most of the buttons on it, requiring you to use JoyToKey, which would be nice if we could just avoid.

I am running Windows XP Pro.

In conclusion: THIS DOES NOT WORK:
http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-PS-USB2X1

I have DWI with every single song from all 7 mixes, and am still looking for a good converter to use! Does anyone have a definate converter that works WELL?

Lik-Sang's website just came back up. I placed an order for a Boom convertor, should be here in 5-14 days (hopefully before a party I'm throwing next weekend, I've got a Yatta DWI that they need to see E4.gif ). happy.gif

I'll say it again.
www.levelsix.com
go to PC then get the EMS USB2 Adapter. Hands down the best converter available. Works for DWI and SM perfectly on my 2k box.

I finally found out, what my problem is.
I have the Boom PSX2PC USB Convertor from Lik-Sang.

I can't press two buttons at the same time because they are defined "joy axis" in windows. How can I make them to "joy keys"? Or is there a convertor program which makes my steps on the arrows to keyboard key signals so that DDR thinks it would be a keyboard key which has been pressed at the moment?

There is an "IGNORE AXIS" option in StepMania if that's what you mean...
I'm not sure if DWI has that option though. Oh yeah, if you want your
dance pad to act like keyboard presses, look for a program called
joy2key. I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned in this thread a few times.
Search for it on Google or Yahoo, etc.

That helps, but if the actual converter does not map the axis to buttons itself, then you still cannot use it, because then there is nothing to work off of.

No, it doesn't. That would be nice though.

WARNING: The program is called "JoyToKey" NOT (I repeat, NOT) "Joy2Key."
I spent a long time looking for "Joy2Key" and only came up with dozens and dozens of sites for a linux program that does the same thing. The program for Windows is called "JoyToKey."

Just a heads up E13.gif

laugh.gif I just didn't want anyone else to have to go through the long process of figuring out why this mysterious "Joy2Key" program isn't available for windows. E10.gif

Also, I didn't know about that StepMania option, that could really help! But that converter I bought doesn't even map the axis to joykeys anyway, so I don't know why they even bothered to write "Especially for DDR" on the package. disgust.gif

EDIT: W00! Trick Member Status!

JoyToKey!

Which converter did you get? The EMS USB2 from Level Six converter
lets me do that ( I was able to try it out on a PSX controller before I
hooked up my BNS pads...seems to work fine ).

Something weird's come up. I'm using a MyMyBox pad with the Lik-sang BOOM adapter. It works fine when I do light songs but sometimes when I do songs with a big step density, it sorta "disconnects" and stops registering for the remainder of that song. Anybody else run into this problem?

You should return it and get either the parallel connector from BuynShop
or the USB one I got from LevelSix thumb.gif.

Do those multitaps work for the BNS parallel adapter, if you just have one adapter, but want to use two pads?

Hmm...good question. Have you tried it out? I would try it out
myself with my EMS USB adapter, but I don't have a multitap riiight.gif .
