i bought an levelsix EMS USB convertor, and used my metal gamesdepot pad with it, and everything was great execpt the LEFT arrow- i would press the left arrow and it would register a second later, or sometimes not at all- from time to time it did register but WAY too often did i miss LR jumps and left arrow freezes wouldn't register all the way through the hold- i rotated the pad and decided to cheat but reversing all the arrows (up would be left, left would be down, etc) and this time the up arrow didn't register (it was the same arrow, only roatated around)- thinking it was the pad, i used the pad on my DDDR PSX USA and everything worked fine- so i tried a soft pad on the emulator (i have the Stepmania beta 5) adn everthing was great except the left arrow- any body know what's going on? a standard PSX controller works fine but dance pads won't work with the left arrow.... hmmm

if its the same problem as mine the left key wont work properly if ur foot is on the right panel

The USB/PSX called BOOM from http://www.lik-sang.com work perfectly and supports forcefeed back and analog. Stepmania recommends it and they ain't kiddin. The Kiki-Joy one is a pink POS. I have both and whoever gets the controller with the BOOM USB wins every fighting game match.

Ok, I need help. I'm buying 2 metal dance pads on ebay, and they're for PSX. I have Dance Dance Revolution and Dance With Intensity. I need to know where I can find a PSX->USB converter in the US (or what online store from the US I can buy from) and which one actually works with the dance pads well enough that I can configure it so I can have the up down left and right set to ASDW.

Oops sorry.

So the one you're talking about is the:

PS Joy Converter (USB)
Manufacturer: Boom

Right?

Read this thread a month ago or so, then my parents decided to buy me converters, so I bought a pair of the Soyo Kiki Joy. They were listed on the main page, so I assumed they would work. Unfortunatly, I was wrong. They don't work with DWI and the custom files I made to my favorite songs. E2.gif
Now to go buy a different kind. disgust.gif

Well i got the super joy box 3 converters. They work great for controllers but like many others dont have support for up-down and left-right steps. The one thing that i found that may be helpful to some people having problems with dwi is that DWI-2 didnt work with joy to key. The older version 1.65 worked great with it.

i want one of those too, they look so cool

anyway heres a very very simple solution to solving the problem if you have soft pads and the usb adapter that supports 2 pads

just place the 2 soft mats on top of each other (tape them togetehr if u dont want them to slide apart) and use the up and right button from the first pad and the left and down for the bottom panel like this on joy to key

Top mat panel up=8 on #pad
Top mat panel right=6 on #pad
Bottom mat panel left=4 on #pad
Bottom mat panel down=2 on #pad

then when you go into stepmania/dance with intensity to play the up down and left right will no longer conflict because they come from separate pads, only prob is you wont be able to do double or versus still unless you get another and use 4 pads, my usb convertor only supports 1 pad so i cant test this but i think it should work.

i hope this helps E1.gif

yeah the converters great...but where can you get a GREAT pad? Where is a sturdy responsive metal pad? If it's not metal, what is there to
kiss"?

Has anyone gotten one of these PC Magic Boxes from levelsix or lik-sang?

http://www.levelsix.com/products/pc/PCMagicBox.shtml

I got mine the other day and it works for all my controllers EXCEPT MY DANCE MAT. And original PSX controller. DC, Saturn, and PSX Dual Shock all work perfectly. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it fixable or do I need to return the thing?
