Can we be more specific. There are two at BNS. A parralel port one, and a dual head USB one. So far the USB one is not compatible with XP, at least. There hasn't been decent enough proof it work, just proof it doesn't work. _________________

Im pretty sure that if the USB dualhead one on BNS doesnt work for one person, it wont work for everyone. It definately maps the arrows to axes.
so the one it seems everyone should buy the 5$ parallel one on BNS! |

BTW,they sent me an e-mail with a tracking number with some other information, what I am supposed to do with that? Its the first time I buy something online, sorry to sound like a newbie. |

the tracking number should be entered at the UPS website. It will give you in full detail where the product is and when it will arrive at your door. Its the greatest thing ever invented. _________________

I have two adapters from levelsix. These are the older non-vibration adapters. In Windows98, I can get ONE of them to work at a time, enough to play Stepmania or DWI. Plug in 2, however, and neither work So much for doubles...
Anyway, I tried the same thing in XP, and nothing works at all...the system seems to pick up the controllers, but nothing works.
I also have a parallel adapter (from BNS, I think). It's the basic dirpadpro design. On 98 I can't get dirpadpro to work at all (crashes every time). In XP it works using ntpad, but somehow throws off the timing of songs when I play DWI (go figure)...
Has anybody managed to play doubles with USB adapters? |

Ill make a very detailed guide if I can make the adapter work correctly(Im sure I will!! ).I must receive it first...dont know when because whenever I tried to introduce the tracking # it said that it wasnt a valid #.I think its because US Mail, not UPS,will make the shipping. |

Allright, my friend had a joybox, i took his disk and loaded the drivers...unfortunatly this didn't work, so i was upset. But i did search around and found in the readme of stepmania they recommend a usb adaptor my a company called boom. I purchased it off liksang.com and when it arived i pluged it in and plugged in my new mymybox metal pad :) and it works perfectly with dwi and stepmania... i havent' tried using the actual drivers included but with the joybox drivers, it does definatly work. I am running windows xp. |

1) Old no vibration level6 adaptor. Unfortunately, peolpe say that the new replacement version of them does nto work.
2) Grey connector adaptor with detachabel USB cable. These are the lik-sang ones that are reccomended by the Stepmania team.
3) Paralel port adaptor, with DirectPad Pro, or NTPad, with controller type set to "PSX LEFT ANALOG".
4) Smart Joypad II (good luck finding this thing!) |
just so everyone knows where to buy them, you can get #3 from BuyNShop.Com and get the drivers from aldostools.com (spelling?)
anyone have a link to #2? |

I found another site that sells the Boom USB adapter. I think it's cheaper for most people to buy it here instead of Liksang.
http://www.consoleaccessories.com/products.asp?id=pc001
I'm running Win XP so hopefully this will work for DWI. I'll post my findings when I get this and my MyMyBox pad in the mail |

I wouldn't recommend the boom adaptor at the console accesories page, as it is NOT the same adaptor. The only one that has my stamp o' aproval is the one off lik-sang. But yeah...
PS. the arcade is getting awfully...uh...dull, as i can play any song at home with the mymybox :) |

Oops, you're right. ConsoleAcc. and LikSang sell different models of the BOOM USB adapter. I'll play it safe and cancel my order. |
