im 5'4" or 5'5", haven't checked in a while now. 129lbs, and im 22.
i'd prolly actually weigh less if it wasn't for ddr. my leg muscle is huge, and since muscle weighs more than fat... yeah.
damn ddr for making me gain weight! haha...

I'm fat, but I play better than my skinny friend who's been playing just as long as I have. The only thing that gets me down are some of my fellow players. Down here, hardly anybody cares how well you play if you're a fat chick. All you get is people constantly referring to you as "that fat chick" (behind your back of course) instead of even bothering to learn your damn name. It really pisses me off that a female player doesn't even deserve to be regarded as a serious player if she isn't "hot". I can only speak from living in South Florida here, but I seriously hope the same isn't true nationwide. |

For the record, I'm 22, 5'6", and weigh about 200 lbs.
Also, for the record, I do carry some extra weight.
Now, that out of the way, I really want to comment on the people who have said "god I'm fat" based on height and weight comparisons. The height/weight ratio thing is really not that effective a measure of anything. In fact, most height/weight ratios given as being "healthy" are for inactive people, which IMHO definitely does not include anybody who plays DDR a few times a week.
And that's not including your body's frame and what kind of muscle mass you have. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat. For example, part of the reason I weigh as much as I do is that I played soccer for 15 years or so and developed really strong legs. When I quit soccer, I fenced and did a lot of weightlifting for my legs. My calf muscles are too big to fit most kinds of knee-high boots.
Nowadays, I do more upper body lifting and running, so my chest and shoulders are catching up to my legs as far as mass goes. That means my weight is going up.
Long story short- don't fret it if you think you're fat. You CAN be fit and fat at the same time. I regularly outrun and outlift my thinner friends, and I'm sure a lot of you "heavier" DDR freaks can out dance some thinner people in your local arcade. _________________

I'm 14, 6'1 and 200, and I rarely have problems with my build. A rather strange question I'd like to ask, do you think shoe size makes a difference? I woudl think you'd be more accurate with a smaller foot since you'd be less likely to accidentally hit another arrows by accident or drag around a huge foot and slam ever every bolt on the pad. It's kinda hard to answer though because no one can "change" their foot size, but I'd classify it in groups such as less than size 7 men's , 7 to 11 mens, and more than 11 mens. I'm a 13 mens. What do you think? |

I'm 17, female, 5'6.5, and... uhm..
*jumps on scale*
128lbs. =D
And my feet are 9.5 ladies, which is, uhm, 7.5 mens... I've never had a problem with arrow-steppin, though. I either hit the one I want or I miss it completely. lol.

I'm 5'10", 255... on my way down from about 285~290. A steady dose of DDR has the pounds dropping off quickly.
I wear a men's 13, and I've found it to be easier with big feet, I can just kind of put my foot over both the side and down arrows, and just shift my weight a little bit during some of the harder streams.
And yes, us fat boys can play too, I have passed every song on 5th mix, about the only ones I can't do on MAX are Healing Vision Angelic Mix and MAX300.

I'm a 5'10", 160-180 (haven't measured in quite some time) and don't have a problem hitting the pads (well, not as far as my weight/height is concerned ) _________________

I'm 5'8'', 190 lbs...but I can play just fine. Any problems I have isn't related to my weight. I am pretty agile too! |
