I remember playing Shock on 3rd MIX Korea2 and failing miserably... i think i hit only a couple of arrows. Now almost 5 months later I'm getting to the stage where I can pass some double Catas! |

My first time was at Santa Cruz boardwalk in cali. actually it was the first time i had even seen a ddr machine. I had heard a few of my friends talk about it online and i figured what the hell. by the time i finished i had blown 30 bucks and had a croud cheering. it almost came natural, but then again, so did the sweat. _________________

At an arcade near my house, it was a 3rd mix, and my best friend who lives in another town was visiting me. I didn't want to play but she dragged me on there and before I knew it, I had spent a lot of money, and we spent the entire week at the arcade. Love at first sight with a DDR machine _________________

My first time....
Heheheh. I think it was about a year ago over at the Vallco Tilt Arcade. My friend dragged me up onto the USA machine, we bombed STMB Basic, and I was hooked for life . |

Ahhh, I remember my first time very fondly.
I had first heard of DDR on the internet, in about 1999, when it was first appearing over in the US. It sounded like a lot of fun, and so for about a year I searched every arcade I came across for a DDR machine. Unfortunatly there aren't many DDR machines in the Texas panhandle (still aren't any even today).
So then I moved to Tampa, and got a season pass to Islands of Adventure. So I was visiting there on September 4, 2000, when I noticed their arcade. I decided to see if they had a machine or not, like any other arcade, and amazingly enough, they had a 1.5 mix. I literaly screamed for joy. I only had enough money on me for two plays, but I was hooked. The first song was Brilliant 2 U, which I failed almost immediatly. Then I played HYNBM, and failed on Boom Boom Dollar. But I immediarly went back to IoA the next week, with more money this time, just to play DDR. And I've been playing ever since. |

First game, first song, US 1st mix, HYNBM Basic, failed. But at least I knew reasonably well what I was doing.
Waited about 3 weeks to play again, watched people at arcades, read stuff on the net. Got smart.
Second game, 4th mix, Butterfly, Bumblebee and Do It All Night all on Basic, all passed.
A lesson for n00bs if there ever was one. It pays to be informed. _________________

I remember my first experience was at an arcade 20 min. north from where I live. My friend and I were just looking to kill some time and decided to try playing DDR in the arcade for the 1st time, I actually didn't do too bad, I was averaging C's and got better and better with each song and step I played. |

Someone picked it for me. Damn catling And to be totally honest. I didn't understand the purpose of the little feet at the bottom of the screen until I was already passing Paranoia Rebirth. |
