If it is cheap foam, and you have an "ignition" style pad (zipper with foam insert), you can buy authentic Red Octane Foam from their website for a very reasonable $10.00 per pad plus shipping.

That is true. The Rychan Mod does substitute the foam with plywood, so no need to purchase red octane foam.

From the description it says that it has a 6 ply foam pad, which usually means the cheapy foam. The single ply RO hard foam being sold at the RO website is much better.

While this pad is probably ...

Most likely the foam insert is utter garbage. Do yourself a favor and when you order those, also order actual red octane foam from the RO website. The foam is only $10.00 a pad, plus $4.50 shipping. ...

First, fold it up as little as you can get away with. The less folds, the better. If you must fold, make sure the folds correspond with the gaps between the sensors. This means folding it in "third ...

Yes, innex and voltz both sell ps2 style pads. Innex being the e-bay store and voltz at www.voltz.com.

Of course the red octane foam is available directly from RO

Pros: Light weight, easier to store, softer on your feet, quieter to use, Less expensive per pad. Many have raised arrows to be able to "feel" where the arrows are without looking down.

I would never buy the "thin" soft pads from e-bay. Gamestop has some decent soft pads for $20.00 each, so if you just HAVE to have some paper thin soft pads, go to a store and pick em up.

However, ...

It seems the biggest issue with soft pads is internal bunching and slipping on the floor. I was wonder, how hard would it be to create a pad using two large pieces of "wet suit" material, like on mos ...
