basically you follow the light green traces. if you can follow it to another button, then its a ground. which automatically makes the other side "live"

When I tried selecting something other than heavy mode, nothing happens.

So the row of solder points on the top left hand side (1,2, and 3 lets call 'em.)
1 and 3 are the ground points, correct? But the L and R buttons are not there, will it still have effect on the pad ... |
