im having the same exact problem but im using the metal pad usb adapter from RED OCTANE and i cant use it in stepmania or DWI, what pisses me off is that RO is selling something without drivers or sof ...

would i just wipe it down with a paper towel, or blow, or use alcohol or other cleaners?
